Hypnosis for Childbirth

Birth has the potential to be one of the most wonderful experiences of our lives. Childbirth is a natural physiological process that a woman’s body is fully equipped for. Each birth is unique, and easibirthing® is about empowering you to manage your individual experience, not fear it.

Hypnosis, Psychotherapy and Fertility

The mind has enormous power over the body, which is constantly influenced by our emotions, thoughts and beliefs. There is a wealth of research showing that hormone levels, ovulation and other reproductive factors may well be affected by what is going on in your mind. By consulting a specialist hypno-psychotherapist you can maximise the chances of natural or assisted conception (including alongside IVF) and maintaining a healthy pregnancy.

“Changing expectations and challenging attitudes one birth at a time.”

We train you to use self-hypnosis, relaxation, visualisation and breathing methods to prepare mind and body for a natural birth. We teach you to use hypnosis for pain management skills and aim to build your trust in your body so you enter labour feeling calm, confident and in control.

This is about reaching a state of deep relaxation, maintaining perception of control over the process and developing a positive attitude. It is about changing your expectation of birth so that you help rather than hinder the natural process.

The easibirthing® method seeks to enable you to have the active birth you want. So whether you are planning a home birth or birthing in hospital, this training is designed to suit you.

Infertility

The HFEA (The Human Fertilisation and Embryology Authority) estimates that one in seven UK couples have difficulty conceiving approximately. That’s approximately 3.5 million people!

The National Institute for clinical excellence (NICE) defines infertility as failing to get pregnant after two years of regular unprotected sex.

Infertility is the most common reason for women aged 20-45 to see their GP, after pregnancy itself.

Infertility affects both men and woman equally.

Of these cases, more than 25% are diagnosed with “unexplained infertility”.

Hypnotherapy can help couples to reclaim their natural fertility, conceive and give birth to a healthy baby.

It is known that hypnosis affects the hypothalamus base of the brain. The hypothalamus is sensitive to stress and acts as a bridge between the emotional and physical, turning emotional messages into physical responses that affect hormone levels. Your emotions affect your body and your beliefs become your biology.

Receiving a diagnosis of “unexplained infertility” can strike terror in the hearts of couples who want to be parents. Couples can feel helpless and frustrated with this diagnosis, but it really is the best news she can get after medical investigations. It means that there is NO physical reason they cannot become parents, so it may be more helpful to look at it this way.

Pre-Birth Bonding

Over the years, research has shown that the effects of post-natal depression and baby rejection can be considerably reduced by using visualisation techniques to meet the baby before its born!

A magical journey into the womb where the mother can imagine touching, nurturing and loving her baby long before its even born.

It teaches the mother to be the skills of self-hypnosis, and get her to relax daily and go inside to practise being a mother! Above all, it gets her to speak to her baby, touch her baby etc. I also provide a copy of the induction which is played during your hypno anaesthesia training so that the bonding will be good and strong long before the baby is born.

Also, its amazing because the baby will respond positively to the hypnotic music after the birth too, its ideal to calm the baby.
