(EFT) Emotional Freedom Practitioner
EFT stands for Emotional Freedom Techniques (sometimes called Tapping) and, in essence, it is an emotional version of acupuncture, except we don’t use needles. Instead, we stimulate certain meridian points on the body by tapping on them with our fingertips.
What is the emotional freedom technique?
The Emotional Freedom Technique, or EFT, is the psychological acupressure technique I routinely use in my practice and most highly recommend to optimize your emotional health. Although it is still often overlooked, emotional health is essential to your physical health and healing – no matter how devoted you are to the proper diet and lifestyle, you will not achieve your body’s ideal healing and preventative powers if emotional barriers stand in your way.
The EFT Process
During a typical EFT session, the person will focus on a specific issue while tapping on “end points of the body’s energy meridians”.
According to the EFT manual, the procedure consists of the participant rating the emotional intensity of their reaction on a Subjective Units of Distress Scale (SUDS) (a Likert scale for subjective measures of distress, calibrated 0-10) then repeating an orienting affirmation while rubbing or tapping specific points on the body.
Some practitioners incorporate eye movements or other tasks. The emotional intensity is then rescored and repeated until no changes are noted in the emotional intensity.
I ALSO PROVIDE A CHILDRENS EFT SESSION WHICH I ENCOURAGE PARENTS TO JOIN IN AND IN DOING SO ENABLES YOU THE PARENT TO CONTINUE THE THERAPY WITH YOUR CHILD INTHE COMFORT OF YOUR OWN HOME.
